For students with early childhood IDS degree, a non-teaching B.S. or B.A and who wish to earn a MS.Ed. and qualify for a Virginia teaching license in grades PreK-3. This program leads to a Masters of Science In Education - Early Childhood Major with Licensure (PreK-3). The program in early childhood education concentrates on teaching children from infancy through third grade with emphasis on education in child-care centers, preschools, kindergartens and public schools. Out-of-school learning, including parent education, and the young child's interaction with the family is a major focus.

Early childhood IDS degree; a non-teaching B.S. or B.A that includes (for students seeking licensure in the state of VA) the course work required to meet the VA state competencies for PreK-3; undergrad. GPA of 2.80; a combined GRE of 900 (min. verbal 400); Praxis 1 exam min. 55th percentile; and 30-36 credit hours of ODO required courses, C-1 grade or better.
