This Herc has some moves

The 440th Airlift Wing supports the Milwaukee airshow by dropping a three-member Navy Leap Frog team. The Frogs hit their target on Brady Beach just North of the grand stands. For the second half of the show, the C-130 did several more passes showing off its capabilities and tight turns. The 440th Airlift Wing was formally based in Milwaukee until it relocated in 2007 to Pope Field, N.C. 440th AW Photo of the Week from the AOR

A 440th Airlift Wing (Pope Field, N.C.) crew stationed with the 746th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron based in Southwestern Asia had the honor of flying National Football League coaches on a tour of the AOR this week visiting deployed soldiers at several locations. Invited to the C-130 flight deck during the mission were Jim Mora Sr. (right), former head coach of New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts, and his son, Jim Mora Jr., former head coach of Seattle Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons. Crew on the flight were Capt William Ellis, Aircraft Commander, 1st Lt. Eryck Ferguson, Co-Pilot , Capt. Aaron Kutschera, Navigator, Senior Master Sgt. Daniel Anthenat, Flight Engineer , Tech. World War II veteran celebrates 89th birthday by fulfilling lifelong dream at Pope Field

Steven Meyer, a World War II veteran, poses for a picture in the C-130H cockpit after he celebrated his 89th birthday and lifelong dream to marshal an aircraft into its parking location on Pope Field’s flightline on May 13, 2011. Meyer served as a combat engineer in the European Theater of Operations and assisted in the planning of the D-Day invasion at Normandy. The event was coordinated through Jeremy Bloom’s Wish of a Lifetime foundation, Brookdale Senior Living and the Airmen of the 440th Airlift Wing. “This is beyond my wildest dreams,” said Meyer, “and, by all accounts my reviews were very positive.
