Are you finally getting rid of that old computer sitting in the corner? Make sure that you dispose of it properly, both to protect your information and the environment. Several government agencies have joined together on the website On Guard Online, which has lots of great tips about computer and cyber safety. The website has tabs that address individual, business, charity & non-profit, government entities taxpayers as well as tax professionals, the retirement plans community, and the tax exempt bond community. International and the military taxpayers are specifically addressed under the individual tab.
All IRS forms and publications are available at www.irs.gov and can be downloaded and printed on any computer. This is your 24/7 resource for U.S. Federal tax information.

When you come to the Embassy or Consulate, the first thing you do is go through our security procedures. These procedures are very similar to those in an airport. Our guards make every effort to screen visitors as quickly and politely as possible. You can help make the process easier and faster by not bringing any prohibited items with you. These include:
- Luggage, suitcases, or backpacks
- Electrical, electronic, or battery-operated items – including CELL PHONES, MP3 PLAYERS, computers, video games, or electric toys
- Firearms and edged weapons, including toy weapons
- Explosives
- Chemical agents, liquids, and gasses
- Any other items that are primarily weapons by design and/or use
As you will be denied entry to the Consular section if you arrive with any of these items, we recommend that you leave them at home, with a friend, or locked in your car.

The U.S. passport card, a less-expensive and more portable alternative to the passport book, is proof of identity and U.S. citizenship. This travel document offers a convenient way for American citizens to re-enter the United States through land and sea ports of entry from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda. But beware, the card is not valid for air travel of any kind or for travel within Europe and IS NOT a globally recognized travel document!
When outside the United States, the passport card can be used as valid citizenship identification. And because it’s about the size of a credit card, it fits perfectly inside a wallet for easy carrying.
