PRINTBesa: The Promise chronicles the inspiring story of Albanian Muslims who helped rescue Jewish refugees during World War II. Following one Albanian’s attempt to fulfill his father’s wish of returning treasured prayerbooks to a Jewish family, the documentary brings the past vividly to life and honors those who quietly, but successfully, fought against the Nazis.
The film will premiere on Sunday, July 29 at the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.
