Since the CPSIA was enacted on August 14, 2008, the Commission and staff have proposed or promulgated numerous rules, guidelines, summaries, and policy documents related to its implementation. It is not possible to translate all of the documents but stakeholders are encouraged to make themselves aware of the content frequently added on the following web page (in English): http://www.cpsc.gov/about/cpsia/cpsia.html. CPSC Reinforces Children’s Sleepwear and Loungewear
Enforcement Policy to Apparel Industry

Agency standards designed to prevent burn injuries to children

In an effort to remind the industry of their obligations associated
with children’s sleepwear and loungewear, the U.S. Consumer Product
Safety Commission’s (CPSC’s) Director of Compliance and Field Operations
sent a letter (English) (Chinese) to manufacturers, distributors, importers
and retailers today reinforcing CPSC staff’s enforcement policy
on children’s sleepwear and loungewear. More

Guidance regarding the classification of a new firework device:
fuse-less firecrackers

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC or Commission)
has authority to regulate consumer fireworks under the Federal Hazardous
Substances Act (FHSA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 1261-1278, and its implementing
regulations Substances Act (FHSA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 1261-1278, and its implementing
regulations at 16 C.F.R. §§ 1500.14, 1500.17 and 1507. Commission staff has
recently learned of a new consumer firework device currently being sold nationwide
and referred to by numerous fireworks retailers and importers as an "adult snapper."
The Commission staff has evaluated the classification of this fireworks device.
