Embassy Visitor Bureau

The Embassy Visitor Bureau (EVB) is an office within the Executive Secretariat of the U.S. Mission in Afghanistan with responsibility for planning and executing of all U.S. Embassy-sponsored VIP visits to Afghanistan. A VIP is defined as a Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary or above (or the equivalent), as well as all Congressional Delegations (CODELs) and all Congressional Staff Delegations (STAFFDELs). EVB works with all offices and agencies represented at the Embassy, as well as the Joint Visitors Bureau (JVB) US Forces Afghanistan (USFOR-A), to ensure visitors have safe and productive trips.

In fiscal year 2010, the Embassy hosted 135 VIP visits.
