Talking Safety Technology

FMCSA's technology program supports the Agency's safety mission by developing, testing and deploying innovative commercial vehicle, driver, and roadside technologies. Mr. Jeff Loftus, Technology Division Chief, will be moderating this webinar, which will focus on programs involving cutting edge safety technologies presented by Technology Division staff members. Mr. Quon Kwan will discuss the current progress on the Commercial Skills Test Information Management System, a web-based Software-As-A-Service system for detecting and/or deterring fraud perpetrated during CDL skills testing activities. Mr. Chris Flanigan will cover the preliminary test results from the Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems project in which the systems were field tested to obtain information on safety benefits, user acceptance, reliability, durability, and maintainability. He will also talk about the impacts, costs and benefits resulting from the Enhanced Rear Signaling Field Operational Test. Mr. Jon Mueller will give a status update on the IntelliDrive for trucks and motor coaches program, which is focused on advancing connectivity among vehicles and roadway infrastructure in order to significantly improve the safety and mobility of the U.S. transportation systems.
