Environmental Liaison
The Environmental Liaison serves as a first point of contact for environmental constituents, handling incoming information requests and improving and maintaining outgoing communications with environmental organizations. The Liaison works closely with NOAA and NOAA Fisheries Service Leadership to develop and maintain close working relationships with key environmental groups and leaders.
The Liaison provides timely notification of agency actions to
key
constituent groups, based on their individual interests, and
to the
public through a weekly electronic newsletter service called
FishNews.
Subscribers include individuals from the recreational, environmental,
and industry sectors, as well as state agency and congressional
staff.
Content is primarily based on Federal Register notices, NOAA
press
releases, and new postings to NOAA webpages in a non-technical
style
that provides links to the complete documents, should an individual
want
more information.
