Senator Boxer Joins Senate’s Hispanic Task Force

Thursday, February 5, 2009

Dear Friend:

I am pleased to let you know that I have again joined the Senate Democratic Hispanic Task Force.  In this, the 111th Congress, there are 45 members of the Task Force, the largest since it was founded 20 years ago.  This year, Senator Robert Menendez will serve as the Chairman.

While the Hispanic Task Force is not new to the Senate, its growth indicates the growing importance of Latinos to the legislative and government process.  Latinos make us a growing part of our electorate in California and in the nation.  Addressing the issues of concern to Latino voters, including the areas of job creation and strengthening our health care system and our schools, is important to everyone in our nation.

I intend to be a very active member in the Senate Democratic Hispanic Task Force.  If you have issues of importance that you would like to relay to me, I encourage you to do so.

Sincerely,

Barbara Boxer, US Senator, California
U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer
