13th and 14th AMUs battle to claim “load crew of the quarter”

The 13th and 14th Fighter Squadrons held 2013’s first Weapons Load Crew of the Quarter Competition at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Jan. 18, 2013. This competition evaluated the load crew team’s overall loading ability, which includes quality of work and finishing time; leaving the 13 FS load crew team with bragging rights after winning the competition for the second time in a row. U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Mark Desmond, 14th Aircraft Maintenance Unit dedicated crew chief, makes sure an F-16 Fighting Falcon is ready to leave for Guam at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Jan. 18, 2013. The end-of-runway inspection is a maintainer’s last look over a jet to ensure the safety of the pilot and the efficiency of the aircraft.
