Along with the Capitol dome and East Front, the House Chamber was among the most-depicted spaces of the building. Many stereoviews sought to show as much of the room as possible, placing the camera in the Visitor’s Gallery, high above the House Floor. This view gives the perspective of a Member walking into the Chamber, while also taking advantage of the leading lines of desks, which would enhance the three-dimensional effect of the stereoview.
