tabYoungstown ARS Bonus AFSCs 
Although there are many interesting career opportunities with the Air Force Reserve's 910th Airlift Wing at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, there are currently two Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs) that are on a bonus list.  Enlistment in one of these career fields could mean an additional financial benefit to the member if all conditions are properly met.  Contact a 910th Airlift Wing recruiter for more information.

1A151 - Flight Engineer
1A171 - Flight Engineer
1A251- Loadmaster
1A271 - Loadmaster
2A551J - Aerospace maintenance
2A571 - Aerospace maintenance
3E751 - Fire Protection
3E771 - Fire Protection
2T151 - Vehicle Ops

Here are the bonus requirements for prior service personnel:

Member must have completed any active military service obligation (MSO) and have less than 20 years of total military service from pay entry base date upon execution of a written contract.

Member must have received an honorable discharge at the conclusion of active military service.

Member must not have previously been paid a bonus for enlistment, reenlistment in a Reserve component, and the specialty associated with the position the member is projected to occupy is a specialty in which the member successfully served while on active duty (AD) and attained a level of qualification commensurate with the members grade and years of service or has completed training or retraining in the specialty skill that is designated as critically short and attained a level of qualification in the specialty skill that is commensurate with the grade and years of service of the member.

Here are the bonus requirements for non-prior service personnel:

Member must enlist for a period of 6 years in the Selected Reserve with a military service obligation of 8 years.

C-130 imageThe C-130 Hercules primarily performs the tactical portion of the airlift mission. The aircraft is capable of operating from rough, dirt strips and is the prime transport for air dropping troops and equipment into hostile areas. The C-130 operates throughout the U.S. Air Force, serving with Air Mobility Command, Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Combat Command, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Pacific Air Forces, Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve Command, fulfilling a wide range of operational missions in both peace and war situations.  Read the full fact sheet.

tabAir Force Basic Training 



The 737th Training Group provides Air Force Basic Military Training for all enlisted people entering the Air Force, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard, earning Lackland the nickname, “Gateway to the Air Force.”

The Air Force receives approximately 30,000 Airmen each year from the 737th Training Group; the number varies with projected requirements. 

Following graduation, Airmen go on to technical training at Lackland or elsewhere before their first Air Force assignment. More than seven million Airmen have completed BMT since 1946.
