Senator Boxer: Making it Easier for Homeowners to Refinance

Monday, October 24, 2011

Dear Friend:

Good news for California homeowners: Today the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced new steps it will take to reduce the barriers that have kept millions of responsible homeowners from refinancing and taking advantage of today’s record low interest rates.

The administration’s plan includes key elements that Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA) and I proposed in our bipartisan Helping Responsible Homeowners Act.

I am very pleased that the administration is taking these steps.  By helping responsible homeowners refinance, we will keep families in their homes and boost the economy by putting thousands of dollars back in the pockets of borrowers.
