I survived through two DV marriages (12 years total) & am now an advocate fighting against DV & child abuse (which often leads to DV). Thank you for taking this stand to protect women! It is a horrific crime that must be stopped! You have my support! Courage & Strength to Stand for the Truth!

I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your support of this very important bill. I have a close friend who was an immigrant victim of domestic violence and this act is what allowed her to start a new life for herself and her son in safety and peace. It is what all women deserve. She recently obtained her U.S. citizenship. Freedom from oppression, whether the oppressor is a government or a spouse, is what makes me proud to be an American. Thank you.

I have not read the specifics of the bill but I don't understand why you have to specify ethnicity, or nationality of women. isn't this law for ALL women? Does a police officer stop and ask what nationality the woman is before he takes action, makes an arrest or assists with the matter he/she is called to? Either way, please be sure to include Irish-American women, I wouldn't want to be in a situation where I was singled out for not being on this "list" of specific nationalities.

This is my 2nd email to you in regards to woman and violence. WHEN WILL IT BECOME A LAW????????? Do you know how many men/or woman are able to use the Child Services Dept to abuse woman and their children? I have had this happen over three times, with CS on my door and interviewing helpless children. How can anyone call and make a report without any contact info for follow ups? Many of these men are on restraining orders and are able to abuse woman using this method? How can this continue? This is destroying lives and costing CA $$$$$. This needs to STOP NOW!

I am concerned. I am concerned because you keep seeming to be completely wasting time on every topic other than ones that will bring our country our of our financial crisis. I don't see you doing anything to support small businesses (which need help in BIG ways), nor do I see you focusing on leveling taxes. We need flat tax rates REALLY BAD. Do you really think passing another 'law' that 'protects women from domestic violence' no matter what color - creed - race - nationality - religious group - etc. etc. etc. will have any affect on 'domestic violence [abuse]' cases reported [or not reported] that the law enforcement community as a whole across this land has to deal with each & every day? If & I stress IF you Madam Senator want to help all women from further domestic violence &/or abuse which in your own words say: "The House Republicans' bill leaves out critical protections for immigrant women, Native American women, college students and the LGBT community." Then draft legislature giving the entire law enforcement community the man power, the financial resources, the 'tec' resources/aid & support of the Federal Government to enforce the laws that are on 'the books' now regarding domestic violence/abuse while making it 'easier' on those that do report domestic violence/abuse. Along with ordering judges to hand down tougher sentencing rulings for users of domestic violence/abuse. Thank you for your time.
