Senator Boxer: Improving Air Quality

Thursday, June 21, 2012

Dear Friend:

This week the Senate rejected a proposal that would have prevented the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from implementing clean air standards for lead, arsenic, and other toxics.

As Chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, I am very pleased that the Senate stood strong to protect the health of our children and families by defeating a proposal that would have prevented the EPA from implementing landmark clean air protections.

I spoke on the Senate floor against this proposal.  To view my remarks, please click here.  For more information, please click here.

Barbara Boxer, US Senator, California
