Historical Funding (Prior to 2001)

The COPS Office is constantly looking for opportunities to help America's local law enforcement agencies make their communities safer. Like the projects they support, COPS grants tend to be problem-specific. In addition to its ongoing efforts, COPS often awards grants to build model programs, so that their successes can be documented and repeated in other communities. The COPS Office also constantly reevaluates its programs to see how they might be improved, which might be more effective if combined, and which are no longer necessary. This section of the website documents COPS grants that made an impact, and then either evolved into other programs, merged with similar programs, or achieved their goals and were discontinued.
