OGP Policy Inc.

Ensuring excellence in government-wide policy

This is my first OGP blog as Associate Administrator for OGP. We’ve been working over the last couple of months to focus OGP and policy making in a new direction. Using a new mantra of “Policy Inc.”, the entire senior team met with the staff to present our new strategic business vision including five policy business lines. We have significant transformational work to do – ferocious change – within OGP to meet and exceed the GSA goals of Customer Intimacy, Operational Excellence and Innovation. Where are we focusing our talent?

 Acquisition Management
 Asset Management and Transportation
 Information Sharing and Identity Management
 High Performance Green Buildings
 Committee and Regulatory Management

We are emphasizing agency collaboration and customer intimacy to ensure we begin to make federal policies outcome-based and cost effective. We are going to focus staff on providing expertise, leadership, and service to customers through sound life-cycle policy analysis. We are focusing on enabling government-wide operational excellence through in-depth policy analysis that drives efficiency, sustainability and performance improvement, and advance policy innovation through evidence-based guidance and best practices.

With this renewed focus on outcome and results OGP will be stepping up our game as the go-to office for strategies, standards, guidance, tools, and measures to drive innovation and improve operational performance for our federal customers.
Look for updates on this new focus and direction within OGP, including updates on the five business lines, in the coming months in this blog.
