May 5, 2011 — ICE special agents arrest El Paso man on child pornography charges

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents arrested Homer Lee Tims on child pornography charges. A forensic examination of items seized from Tims' residence revealed 65 videos and 48 digital still photos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Full Story


May 4, 2011 — 3 men indicted in alleged gang murder following probe by ICE, Daly City Police Department

Three suspected members of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) street gang have been indicted on federal charges of conspiring to commit murder in the aid of racketeering for allegedly gunning down a Bay Area man last year near a Daly City, Calif., bus stop. ICE HSI agents conducted an investigation that resulted in indictments against four Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DMV) employees for conspiracy to produce and transfer valid Florida driver's licenses without lawful authority. Full Story


May 2, 2011 — Bay Area university president indicted for student visa fraud scheme

A federal grand jury indicted the president of a Pleasanton, Calif., university on 33-criminal counts, charging her with an array of violations, including visa fraud, money laundering and alien harboring, as a result of a two-year investigation by ICE HSI. Full Story


May 2, 2011 — 4 charged after feds thwart maritime alien smuggling attempt in Orange County

A key figure in a large-scale maritime human smuggling organization and three accomplices made their initial appearances in federal court on Monday. They allegedly smuggled illegal aliens from Mexico into the United States via boat and took them to an Anaheim, Calif., drop house Full Story
