This past year, the Secure Communities program helped U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers remove more than 460 convicted criminal aliens from Sacramento County. Nearly half of those individuals were violent criminal offenders. Full Story


Jan. 13, 2011 - $2.4 million in cash, more than 100 pounds of cocaine seized at California warehouse

ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents and local police executed a search warrant at a warehouse in Valencia, Calif. Wednesday night. They found more than 103 pounds of cocaine and nearly $2.4 million in cash concealed inside a locked safe. Full Story


Jan. 13, 2011 - ICE Homeland Security Investigations agents seize 15 AK47s

ICE HSI agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Border Enforcement Security Taskforce (BEST) seized 15 AK47s hidden inside the fuel tank a pickup truck earlier this week. The driver of the pickup truck and a passenger were arrested on state charges for firearms smuggling. Full Story


Jan. 12, 2011 - UK man wanted for $130 million international fraud and money laundering scheme extradited from Spain

Richard Sinclair Pope is charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, as well as money laundering. He and others allegedly engaged in a fraud scheme where they hijacked the identities of dormant, publicly-traded companies and misled victim-investors to purchase worthless shares of stock in those companies. Jan. 11, 2011 - ICE seizes counterfeit NFL jerseys from Phoenix stores

ICE HSI agents seized more than 160 counterfeit NFL jerseys from two Phoenix sports memorabilia stores. The businesses were targeted for investigation following a tip from a concerned citizen. Full Story
