ICE announces new Miami field office director
Marc Jeffrey Moore will oversee enforcement and removal operations for Florida, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands

MIAMI - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced today a new field director for the Miami Office of Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).

As the field office director, Marc Jeffrey Moore will oversee all of ICE's ERO functions, operations and detainees within Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands and more than 600 ICE employees.

The Miami ERO Office is responsible for the case management and oversight of ICE detainees in custody at ICE's Krome Service Processing Center, Broward Transitional Center, the Glades County Detention Center, Baker County Detention Center, MDC Guaynabo, PR, Monroe County Detention Center and the Wakulla County Detention Facility and field offices in Miami, Tampa, Fla., Orlando, Fla., Stuart, Fla., Tallahassee, Fla., Fort Myers, Fla., Jacksonville, Fla., Moore Haven, Fla., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

"I am confident that Marc Moore's expertise and strong leadership will further strengthen ICE's partnerships with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as with ICE's external stake holders.  Strengthening these partnerships helps to keep our communities safe."

Prior to assuming this role in Miami, Moore was the assistant director for field operations in Washington where he oversaw activities at all 24 of ICE's field offices, and helped develop and implement field policy and guidance.

Moore has worked in law enforcement for more than 19 years. He began his career in Texas, graduating from the Dallas County Sheriff's academy in 1981, serving as a municipal law enforcement officer and paramedic and later becoming a border patrol agent in El Paso, Texas.

He was promoted though the ranks and in 2004 became the field office director for the ICE San Antonio Field Office. 
During his career, Moore has also served in a number of special assignment positions.  He was the assistant team leader for the nationally recognized Search, Trauma and Rescue team specializing in vertical and wilderness rescue and as a member of the Special Response Team, a select tactical response group making use of his experience and skills as a 16 year veteran paramedic.  He also acted as the operations coordinator for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Medical Assistance Team in Texas for responding to national disasters.

Moore is married and has five children.  He will be residing in Miami with his wife and youngest child.
