Arlington, Texas, man pleads guilty to federal child pornography offense

FORT WORTH, Texas - A north Texas man pleaded guilty on Friday to an indictment charging one count of possessing child pornography.

Danny A. Kuhn, 51, of Arlington, Texas was arrested in April on the charge and was released on bond.

Kuhn is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge John McBryde on Sept. 30; he faces a maximum statutory sentence of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and a lifetime of supervised release.

According to documents filed in the case, in March 2010, agents with U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) visited the Kuhn residence concerning a lead they had received that a target at that residence had purchased child pornography via the Internet. An examination of Kuhn's computer and storage media revealed child pornography that Kuhn admitted purchasing via the Internet.

ICE HSI is investigating and Assistant U.S. Attorney Alex C. Lewis is in charge of the prosecution.

This investigation was part of Operation Predator, a nationwide ICE initiative to protect children from sexual predators, including those who travel overseas for sex with minors, Internet child pornographers, criminal alien sex offenders, and child sex traffickers.
