2/20/2013 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- Many American's consider April 15, tax day, among the most stressful days of the year. Fortunately for base employees, tax professionals are available to assist in free tax preparation.
The Retiree Activities Office offers free tax return preparation assistance and filing for active duty servicemembers, reservists, retirees, Department of Defense civilians and contractors working on Hanscom Air Force Base. Additionally, the Internal Revenue Service's website has a military tax information section containing military provisions and benefits information, free preparation opportunities and frequently asked questions. To access this information, visit www.irs.gov/individuals/military/index.html.
Another resource is Military OneSource.
