A Transportation Worker Identification Credential or TWIC is a tamper-resistant, common identification credential, issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), containing a biometric (fingerprint template) of the card holder. The National Maritime Center uses TSA as their primary source for security checks when conducting background investigations. We highly recommend that you apply for a TWIC. Please view our TWIC Policy Letter 11-15 to see exceptions to this rule. |
