Family Readiness Officer Mission Statement
The Family Readiness Officer (FRO) is the face of the Commander's vision for the Unit Personnel and Family Readiness Program. The FRO is the direct link to the Marines and their family members. Headquarters and Service Battalion, HQMC, Henderson Hall Unit Personnel and Family Readiness Program (UPFRP) provides training and referral resources to Marines and communicates through a variety of channels to the spouses, parents, and extended family members. The goal is to equip and assist families in becoming well-informed, self-sufficient, and improve their quality of life thus allowing Marines to feel at ease on the home front which promotes Mission Readiness.
Resources

H & S Battalion Chaplain
-Provides ethical and moral counsel to the Command and facilitates support for the religious needs of all Marines, Sailors, and eligible family members within Headquarters and Service Battalion, Headquarters, U. S. Marine Corps.

Homeowners Assistance Program
-The Department of Defense (DOD) is proud to offer the Homeowners Assistance Program (HAP) to eligible service members and federal civilian, including non-appropriated fund, employees. The program is authorized by law, and administered by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to assist eligible homeowners who face financial loss when selling their primary residence homes in areas where real estate values have declined because of a base closure or realignment announcement

Marine Corps Family Teambuilding
-MCFTB provides educational resources and services to foster personal growth and enhance the readiness of Marine Corps families.

Military One Source
-Help with child care, personal finances, emotional support during deployments, relocation information, or special needs resources.

Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA)
-The Department of Defense’s expanded Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA) program is now offering up to $6,000 to military spouses who are interested in pursuing degree programs, licenses or credentials leading to careers in high growth, high demand portable career fields.

The Mass Communication Tool (MCT) 
-MCT is desined to rapidly desseminate important information to United States Marine Corps personnel and family members.

-Each person who wishes to receive notice must individually register their contact information on the Mass Communication Contact Data Sheet. The tool enhances the capabilities of the previously used Key Volunteer-driven phone tree and will reduce the likely-hood of any missed communication, an effective solution for communicating with Marines and their families anywhere, anytime via phone, email, instant messaging, text messaging, fax, BlackBerry, pager and more.

All Marines within H & S Battalion, Henderson Hall are encouraged to download the Mass Communication Tool Contact Data Sheet, fill out completely and turn in to The Family Readiness Officer (FRO).

The FRO is located in Henderson Hall, Building 29, Room 302.

Sponsorship Form
If you are moving to the area and you request a sponsor that will assist you in making a smooth move; fill out the sponsorship request form and return it to the Family Readiness Officer, via email. The sponsorship request form allows the sponsor an opportunity to address any questions or concerns you might have prior to joining the unit.

"The FRO" can provide information and resources available to support Marine Families regarding all aspects of the military lifestyle. Below is a list of services offered:

  • PCS Moves.
  • Housing Information including the Military Set Aside Housing Program.
  • Personal Financial Planning.
  • Exceptional Family Member Program.
  • School Liaison Officer who works with area school systems.
  • Family Member Employment Assistance Program.
  • General Counseling Services and Family Advocacy.
  • Substance Abuse Counseling.
