DDESS Schools participate in the federally assisted U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National School Lunch and National School Breakfast programs, School meals meet a variety of important nutrition goals and provide nutritionally balanced meals to children each school day.
The Child Nutrition Program is operated on a prepay computerized accounting system. There should not be any student borrowing. Parents/guardians are responsible for keeping accounts current. Read more about food service accounts and payment.Families who apply and are qualified receive free or reduced price meals.
Burger King, McDonalds, Coke and other commercial fast foods and sodas are NOT allowed in the cafeteria/lunch room.

As a part of the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) New Meal Pattern, school meals will offer foods and portion sizes recommended by the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans; and are a key component of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Most changes start this school year.
