SECRETARY DALEY GIVES COMMENCEMENT ADDRESS AT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S PREMIER CORPORATE UNIVERSITY

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary William M. Daley will deliver the commencement address before more than 550 people at the fifth annual graduation ceremony of PTO University (PTOU). Founded in 1994, the award-winning PTOU is the federal government's oldest corporate university. PTOU is sponsored by the Patent and Trademark Office (PTO), and a consortium of universities that includes Syracuse University, the University of Virginia, Marymount University, and Northern Virginia Community College. The PTO is a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce. During his address, Secretary Daley will recognize PTOU as an outstanding example of the Clinton Administration's commitment to life-long learning, and he will describe the unique way that the University is helping the Commerce Department create a workforce that is fully equipped for the 21st century workplace.
