Hunting at Lake Proctor

Public Hunting Program
Fort Worth District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Proctor Lake
2012-2013

The 2012-2013 hunting season permits will be issued for two wildlife management areas (WMA’s) —the Sabanna River WMA and the Upper Leon River WMA. General recreation use will not be allowed during times designated for hunting. Waterfowl hunting on the lake will be available without an issued permit.

Visitors must obtain a permit from the Proctor Lake Office to access the wildlife areas. While visiting the wildlife areas, visitors must park in the designated parking area and display a valid permit on the vehicle dash board. Reference the Proctor Lake hunting map for the location of parking areas.

Vehicles not displaying a valid permit or parked outside of the designated parking area may be subject to a citation and/or fine. It is important for visitors to comply with all rules governing the use of the wildlife areas in order to prevent conflicting usage, provide beneficial use for all visitors, and to not interfere with adjacent landowners.

There will not be any costs for the permits. The following types of permits will be issued:

Duck Hunting
Dove Hunting
Feral Hog Hunting
Small Game Hunting
