Welcome to 3-69 Armor “Speed and Power”
As a combined arms Battalion we pride ourselves in our ability to respond to any threat on any terrain command deems necessary. Boasting two Infantry Company’s, two Armor Company’s, one Support Company and HHC this unit is continuously training for full spectrum Operations in order to bring the fight to our enemy.
Steeped in history with origins in Fort Knox constituted 15 July 1940 in the Regular Army as Company C, 69th armored Regiment, an element of the 1st Armored Division. 43 years later on 15 August 1983 3-69 AR was ultimately re-designated as Headquarters Company, 3d Battalion, 69th Armor, assigned to the 3rd Division.
The Unit has a prideful deployment history including wartime missions in the 1990s in support of Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield as well as numerous deployments in Iraq (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 & 2010) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn.
Currently 3-69 is actively training its soldiers and command staff on the fundamentals of soldiering including weapons qualification, live fire, combat life saving drills and tank gunnery.
Concurrently “Speed and Power” is renewing and reinvigorating its push to support the families and friends of solders through community outreach programs, Family Readiness Groups (FRG) events and Company level family outings including BBQs and picnics. The balance between military and family life is of the utmost importance. A healthy partnership between the two results in a strong, healthy and fundamentally sound fighting force.
Welcome to 3-69 Armor and Fort Stewart!
“Speed and Power!”
