SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING |

PURPOSE: The SVR is an urgent notification that a thunderstorm producing 3/4 inch or larger hail and/or wind gusts 58 mph or stronger is imminent or occurring.
CHANGES: No significant programmatic changes have taken place within the past year.
COMMENTS: As indicated above, the SVR should be issued when severe weather conditions as defined in WSOM C-40 are occurring or are expected to occur. Besides the required communications and MND header information, SVRs shall contain the name of the issuing office, the valid time of the warning, and the affected county (or portion). SVRs should also contain the location of the storm (with a reference time), the storm�s movement, its position with respect to well-known cities, and a short list of communities near the storm�s projected path. A call-to-action statement should also appear in the warning. The warning should appear in a �bulleted� format as depicted in OML 1-98.
