LEAP 2011 Year in Review

Gratitude and Thanks to LEAP Annual Contributors

LEAP is proud to thank a special group of organizations who have joined with LEAP in partnership to show their commitment to diversity in the workplace, encourage LEAP's mission to grow leaders - specifically engaged, talented, and diverse leaders, and supports the Asian and Pacific Islander community.

For over 30 years, LEAP has changed the lives of over 125,000 people across geographies, generations, and genders; supported the strengthening of diverse Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities and influenced over 2,500 organizations across the private, public and nonprofit sectors. We are immensely proud of the impact we have made in "growing leaders" and we're pleased that we will be able to continue doing so with the help of the LEAP Annual Contributors.

NEW Leadership Research Series Report

2011 Fortune 500 API Executive Officers and Top Earners

Description: 2011_LEAP_FORTUNE500_Cover.jpgThe 2011 Fortune 500 API Executive Officers and Top Earners marks the sixth report in the series and the first edition of research focusing on Executive Officers.

Through these reports and our direct involvement with companies to develop a robust pipeline of API leaders through our training programs, LEAP will continue to do its part in shedding light on the need for more representation of APIs at the highest levels of leadership positions.

The report findings show that despite the fact that APIs are the fastest growing minority group and a vital part of the nation’s talent pipeline, APIs remain largely absent at the top executive level at the largest companies in the country.

LEAP Summer Interns Projects:  LEAP Youtube Channel and Crowd Funding Campaign

This past summer, LEAP had a team of interns that worked together to increase LEAP's online presence.  In addition to helping with programs, events, and office duties, they also began these two projects.

LEAP Youtube Channel

This channel brings together various videos of LEAP program alumni.  The interns gathered testimonials over the summer with the goal of capturing participants' experiences with LEAP's programs and reflections on the training they received.  LEAP plans to continue collecting these stories, so please contact Nancy Yap at nyap@leap.org

if you are interested in being interviewed.

Visit http://www.youtube.com/user/LEAPvideos/featured to check out the videos.

LEAP Crowd Funding Campaign:  Struggle City at the LEAP office: Video Disaster

With the generous support of Bill Imada, LEAP was able to engage We Did It Fundraising to begin raising money through their crowd funding platform for nonprofit organizations.   This campaign is a result of the interns fundraising summer efforts.  Please watch their video and donate to their campaign.  The goal is $5,000 before 10/25/12 for a new, professionally done, LEAP promotional video.  Plan C Agency has already committed to donating over $20,000 in services and resources to make the video, all we have to do is raise $5,000!  If 200 people donate $25, we will reach our goal and unlock all the videos that the interns have worked so hard to create.  We hope that you enjoy, donate, and share! Visit HERE to support their campaign!

Special Thanks to the 2012 LEAP Summer Interns!

APASS Connections Mentorship Program at USC

APASS is currently looking for mentors to volunteer for their Career Mentorship Program, Connections!  Connections! connects undergraduate students with alumni and other professionals in a field of interest. This program was created to meet the career development needs of API students specifically in a culturally-influenced context.

Oftentimes the experiences of being a person of Asian or Pacific Islander descent make personal and professional development issues more complex.  They are currently in need of professionals in the health or business fields.
