Brave Kids, a new UCP initiative, serves children and youth with disabilities and chronic/life-threatening illnesses by providing a support community, information and resources on numerous medical conditions like genetic diseases, autism, cancer, cerebral palsy, etc..
For kids with a special need or chronic illness, it’s not always easy to maintain a healthy weight. For instance, some physical impairments can make exercise difficult, or some medications can stimulate appetites or cause fatigue. Learn more about obesity and how your child can stay healthy.
The World CP Challenge is an exciting four week team activity that runs for the month of September. Each member of a team of four will track their daily step count (by wearing a pedometer provided to you) or other fitness activity and record this on their personalized World CP Challenge webpage. Each day, when you enter your steps your team will progress up your virtual mountain. The aim of the Challenge is for each team to reach the top by the end of the four weeks. Participants will be encouraged to fundraise from the time they register until the end of the event with all proceeds going towards vital services and groundbreaking research for people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
