USAID's Democracy and Governance program in El Salvador works with the Government of El Salvador to:

  • Help implement the new Criminal Procedures Code;
  • Contribute to improving the use of scientific evidence for convictions;
  • Help improve justice sector service delivery;
  • Improve, establishes, and promotes good governance and anti-corruption practices within the government;
  • Support the Government Ethics Tribunal policy reforms; and
  • Develop innovative partnerships between the public and private sector to carry out community-based crime prevention programs.
