Providing Credentials to Mariners
Merchant Mariner Credential
The National Maritime Center (NMC) Original application page. If you a brand new to the Merchant Mariner industry and have a need for a credential or license then you are at the right place. NMC is a unit under the US Coast Guard who issues the Merchant Mariner Credential. There are several steps that you must do before obtaining a credential. Review our wizard which will help you t better understand our process. Remeber to follow all recommended steps and provide supporting documentation so your credential can be mailed within 30 days.
Your application must be submitted (mailed) to a local Regional Exam Center and not to the National Maritime Center.
Payment
We highly recommended that you use Pay.Gov - Credit Card Payment Form in order to pay for your credential. It is fast, safe, and reliable method of payment. See Title 46 CFR 10.219 for additional information.
