CTIMR Industry Day Telecon

(10/27/2009)The Tactical Infrastructure (TI) program – through U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Department of Homeland Security – will host an Industry Day teleconference beginning from 12 p.m. EDT to 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday June 24, 2009. The purpose of the call is to provide a venue for vendors interested in the program’s Comprehensive Tactical Infrastructure Maintenance and Repair (CTIMR) contract. Participating vendors will be able to ask questions about the Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) and accompanying documents posted on the FedBizOpps Web site since May 29.

Representatives from the TI Program, CBP Office of Procurement, TI Acquisition Group, and the U.S. Border Patrol will all be available on the call. Vendors will also have the chance to participate in a real-time question-and-answer session.

The CTIMR contracts will provide maintenance and repair support for CBP’s tactical infrastructure assets located along the U.S.-Mexico border. The scope of work includes the maintenance and repair of fence and gates, roads and bridges, drainage structures and grates, lighting and electrical systems, debris removal and vegetation control, and other areas as required. Proper operation and maintenance of these assets will allow the U.S. Border Patrol to safely and efficiently carry out its priority mission of preventing terrorists and terrorists’ weapons, including weapons of mass destruction, from entering the United States.

A total of four contracts will be awarded to encompass the nine Border Patrol Sectors along the Southwest Border. The four contractual designations are as follows:

• Area 1: San Diego and El Centro Sectors
• Area 2: Yuma and Tucson Sectors
• Area 3: El Paso and Marfa Sectors
• Area 4: Del Rio, Laredo, and Rio Grande Valley Sectors

At this time, all different acquisition strategies – including set-asides and small business participation goals – are still being considered and will be finalized prior to the release of the final RFP.

Finally, the TI Program is planning for another set of site visits to areas where tactical infrastructure has been constructed once the final RFP has been released in the First Quarter of Fiscal Year 2010. Dates and itineraries for the site visits are to be determined. An announcement of the details will be posted both on FedBizOpps.gov and on the CTIMR Web site.
