Records Management
Title 44 U.S.C. 2901 defines records management as “the managerial activities involved with respect to records creation, records maintenance and use, and records disposition in order to achieve adequate and proper documentation of the policies and transactions of the Federal government and effective and economical management of agency operations."
Web Measurement and Customization Technologies
HHS uses web measurement and customization technologies to remember a user’s online interactions with a website or online application in order to conduct measurement and analysis of usage or to customize the user’s experience.
Plain Writing
The Plain Writing Act of 2010 requires federal agencies to use "clear Government communication that the public can understand and use." Learn how HHS is implementing plain writing programs across the Department.
2012 Environmental Justice Strategy
The 2012 HHS Strategy is intended to provide clear direction of goals, strategies and actions to address environmental justice in minority and low-income populations and Indian tribes. The final 2012 HHS EJ Strategy reflects comments received during the public comment process, as well as comments and concerns expressed in seventeen stakeholder engagements between November 2010 and November 2011.
Current State of the Agency-wide Web Management (PDF, 308kb)
Executive Order 13571 requires HHS and all Federal Agencies to comply with OMB guidelines of the .Gov Reform Initiative. All Agencies were required to describe the state of current web management by answering four questions about web strategy, resources, content and customer service by October 11, 2011. HHS’ response is available for public view at usa.gov/webreform.
