To support these activities, INL operates numerous laboratories, reactors, test facilities, waste storage facilities, and support facilities.
Idaho Operations Office
The Idaho Closure Project (ICP) is a multi-year cleanup effort involving decommissioning and dismantlement of over 200 excess environmental management facilities. The scope includes D&D of three reactors, management of spent nuclear fuel, treatment and disposal of sodium-bearing waste, disposal of tank farm facility waste tanks, and remediation of the Subsurface Disposal Area at the Radioactive Waste Management Complex.
