NCSLI Northwestern Region 1430 Meeting
Meeting Overview: A day of Measurement Lab learning: On October 11th NCSLI in conjunction with our host Cascade Engineering Services Inc. will be providing a low cost (free for members) hands-on workshop for Lab & Test personnel and their customers demonstrating many of the critical variables that can negatively impact product development, production and testing. Many measurements are made either in the field or outside the controlled calibration lab environment. Variables can potentially arise that create false acceptance, false rejection situations which can lead to unnecessary rework, increased cost and the passing of faulty product. This "hands-on" workshop provides an insightful look at some of the factors hidden in a "measurement loop" that produce headaches, heartbreaks & cost overruns. Attendees will be divided into several groups. Each group will rotate through the different demonstrations in small groups of six to eight people. The subject matter expert will lead the attendees through the demonstration then assist with the measurements and discussions. After rotating through all the demos the attendees will then discuss their results with the rest of the groups near the end of the day. Please join us to learn more about measurement practices. This event is suggested for: lab & test engineers & technicians, trainers, lab supervisors, inspectors, technical writers and quality professionals.

NCSLI Technical Exchange
The NCSL International Technical Exchange is a new educational event designed to provide you regional access to low-cost, high-quality metrology training solutions. At this two-day event you will get metrology training covering several fields. Each training session is taught by subject matter experts from throughout the industry. For the complete tutorial program go to ncsli.org.

The Technical Exchange provides a forum for exchanging ideas, measurement techniques, best practices and innovations with others interested in metrology industry trends. It will build or enhance specific hands-on skills in the calibration of measurement and test equipment, and teach best practices along with introducing new and innovative calibration hardware, software and calibration services.

Come join a global community of people passionate about the science of measurement, and build a network of peers to help resolve mutual metrology challenges that will last you a life time. Many of the tutorials presented at this educational event will provide information that is part of the ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) "body of knowledge" sponsored by the ASQ Measurement Quality Division.
