About the Presenters

Gadi Ben-Yehuda is the Social Media Director for IBM's Center for the Business of Government. Gadi has worked on the Web since 1994, when he received an email from Maya Angelou through his first Web site. He has an MFA in poetry from American University, has taught writing at Howard University, and has worked in Washington, DC, for nonprofits, lobbying organizations, Fleishman-Hillard Global Communications, and Al Gore's presidential campaign. 

Prior to his current position, Gadi was was a Web Strategist for the District of Columbia's Office of the chief Technology Officer (OCTO). Additionally, Gadi has taught creative, expository, and Web writing for more than 10 years to university students, private-sector professionals, and soldiers, including Marines.

Tim Brown has been the community manager for the U.S. State Department's eJournal USA Facebook page since its launching in April 2009. In a public diplomacy career spanning four decades he has produced exhibitions, developed websites, designed print publications, and engaged with social media.

Stephanie L. Schierholz is NASA's social media manager and an agency spokesperson. Stephanie has 10 years' experience leading strategic communications, media relations, and public outreach efforts. She provides strategic communications guidance to NASA's senior management and is an advocate for incorporating emerging communications technologies into the agency's public outreach activities.

Stephanie is also a public affairs specialist and spokesperson for the agency's Space Operations Mission Directorate that leads and implements NASA's human spaceflight missions on the space shuttle and International Space Station. She plans, conducts, and executes agency news conferences, television events, and webcasts to announce billion-dollar contracts, significant scientific discoveries, and the development, testing, and launch of spacecraft.

Leading NASA's social media activities, including the agency’s flagship Twitter account, @NASA, and Facebook page, and overseeing more than 200 other agency social media accounts, Stephanie has been instrumental in creating and leading NASA Tweetup events to bring NASA’s Twitter followers to in-person gatherings at agency locations. She initiated and led the development of a NASA Stylebook and was a contributing editor to "NASA: 50 Years of Exploration and Discovery." Before coming to NASA, she was the director of communications for the Space Foundation. When not dreaming of spaceflight, she is president-elect for Women in Aerospace, an inaugural member of the British Council's Transatlantic Network 2020, and a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
