Commercialization Assistance

Commercialization Assistance

Dawnbreaker

The Department of Energy (DOE) is dedicated to the successful commercialization of SBIR/STTR funded technologies and provides comprehensive commercialization services to our grantees. To assist DOE SBIR/STTR awardees with the challenge of commercialization, Dawnbreaker was selected by the DOE SBIR/STTR Programs Office to provide commercialization assistance to all eligible DOE Phase I and Phase II awardees.

During Phase I a solid foundation is laid via the development of a commercialization plan. In each subsequent year of your Phase II award, companies can select from a menu of services that best meets their needs. Since 1990, Dawnbreaker has worked with over 4,900 SBIR and STTR awardees, including assistance to about 600 DOE funded projects.

All DOE SBIR/STTR awardees that choose to work with Dawnbreaker are required to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with Dawnbreaker. The DOE General Counsel has reviewed this agreement; but ultimately, it is up to the DOE awardee to determine if this NDA is acceptable. Please keep in mind; it is a requirement that each grantee sign this agreement to be eligible for DOE commercialization assistance as provided by Dawnbreaker.
