The DAAC's User Working Group (UWG) is an external advisory group, established by the Earth Observing System (EOS) Data Information System (EOSDIS) for the following purposes:
- to assist in defining and accomplishing the DAAC's science goals;
- to provide oversight and guidance on DAAC activities, including data set acquisition, development of value-added products, user support, development activities, and operational functions;
- to provide recommendations about annual work plans and long-term planning; and
- to provide recommendations on interactions and agreements on data management between field campaigns and the ORNL DAAC.
The User Working Group meets once a year to review status and provide recommendations to the ORNL DAAC and NASA. UWG photograph from May 2015 meeting at ORNL. Additional information about the responsibilities of the UWG can be found in the ORNL DAAC UWG Charter.
The User Working Group is interested in hearing from users on how to improve the DAAC and about data sets or model products the DAAC should pursue archiving.
To get further information about the User Working Group or to provide input to the DAAC or the User Working Group, please contact the DAAC scientist, Alison Boyer (boyerag@ornl.gov).
