Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer: - Dr. Norman Koons, 1988, for development of magnetic materials that are used in the permanent magnet industry.

Wolf Foundation Prize for Physics (Israel): - Dr. Herbert Friedman, 1987, for "achievements in the pioneering research that opened the field of solar x-ray astronomy and contributions to the rapidly growing field of extra-solar x-ray astronomy."

President's Award for Distinguished Federal Civilian service: - Dr. Jerome Karle, 1986, for "achievements in new fundamental revolutionary concepts and development of new theoretical implications."

Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer: - Howard Lessoff, 1986, for management of and participation in the development of a cost-saving method for GaAs crystal production and for transfer of the technology to industry.

Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer: - Dr. James Griffith, 1984, for the development of advanced fluoropolymers.

Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer: - William Garrett, 1984, for the development and transfer to the commercial sector of a non-toxic mosquito control substance.
