American Chemical Society's Hillebrand Prize: - Dr. Frances Ligler, 1993, for two bio-sensor projects transitioned to industrial development.

Collier Award for GPS invention from the National Aeronautic Association: - Mr. Peter Wilhelm and Mr. Roger Easton, 1992, for "the most significant development for safe and efficient navigation and surveillance of air and spacecraft since the introduction of radio navigation 50 years ago."

Italian Erice Science for Peace Prize: - Dr. Jerome Karle, 1992, for "discoveries relative to the structure of materials with diffractive methods" and for promoting 'international scientific collaboration above any ideological-political-racial barrier."

Lord Rank Award from the Royal College of Surgeons in London, England: - Dr. Stuart Searles, 1992, for discoveries leading to the development of the rare gas halide excimer laser. These developments include several flashlamp pumped chemical lasers, a free burning flame laser, and the electron beam pumped argon-nitrogen laser.

Women In Science And Engineering Award For Scientific Achievement: - Dr. Cha-Mei Tang, 1992, for work in the area of free electron lasers, on efficiency enhancement schemes and radiation focusing and guiding, and for contributions to the advancement of women in science.

Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer: - Dr. David Nagel, 1991, for the transfer of a plasma x-ray lithography process to a start-up company.
