Exhibition of Portrait of a Man in a Fur-lined Coat by Rembrandt Lent by the Fuller Foundation

January 8-November 16, 1965

Overview: The portrait by Rembrandt van Rijn was part of the collection formed by the late Alvan T. Fuller, Governor of Massachusetts (known particularly since he was in office at the time of the Sacco-Vanzetti case). The Distinguished Ladies Reception for the inauguration of President Lyndon B. Johnson was held at the Gallery on January 18 while the painting was on view. The building was closed to the public at 1 p.m., which was most unusual at that time.

Location: Main Floor, Gallery 47
