This chart shows fuel taxes on gasoline and diesel in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. The United States has the lowest gasoline taxes of any country, save for Mexico, and the third-lowest diesel taxes, behind Mexico and Chile. In general, European countries tend to tax petroleum fuels at the highest levels globally.
