Campaign : 2004 NEAX (Northeast Aerosol Experiment), G-1 data

2004.07.20 - 2004.08.15

Lead Scientist : Peter Daum

Description

Brookhaven National Laboratory conducted a series of aircraft flights with the DOE G-1 aircraft during the 2004 Northeast Aerosol Experiment (NEAX). The flights accomplished regional-scale surveys of aerosol precursors and aerosol chemical and microphysical properties; process-level studies of aerosol/oxidant formation; and tests and evaluations of new instrumentation for measurement of aerosol properties. These instruments included the aerodyne aerosol mass spectrometer, the DMA system for measurement of particle number concentrations and size distributions (3 nm - 3 m), and a new aerosol inlet.
