Passing of the flag

The OAL Service and Distribution Center (SDC), Operations Division, has the distinguished honor of providing the final tribute to our Nations Veterans by providing a flag to the next of kin.


Program Highlights

The SDC distributes burial flags to VA facilities throughout the country and around the world. The flags are then distributed directly to funeral directors and families of deceased veterans.  Burial flags are provided free of charge to the next of kin of honorably discharged veterans.  More information on burial flags and burial benefits available at the Burial & Memorials and Burial Benefits web sites.

  • The SDC/Operations Division maintains inventory control, receiving, quality control, packing and shipping for all burial flags through-out the world.
