  • Data Analysis — Performs thorough data analysis and market research related to health care-related products in support of the Department’s National Standardization Program and the Strategic Sourcing initiatives; and arranges and facilitates meetings of Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) whose members include clinicians (i.e. doctors, dentists, nurses, laboratory personnel, laundry personnel, etc).  For these meetings, which may be for requirements development or product evaluation, presentation packages are developed which consist of information such as analysis-based reports, supporting documentation, and/or samples of product to be evaluated.
  • Cataloging — Provides cataloging support and services to VA facilities and, for some commodities, to other civilian government agencies.  For medical and other supplies used in hospital settings, items are identified with National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and are entered into the VA’s Integrated Supply Management System (ISMS) as well as into the Federal Catalog system.  For equipment used in hospital settings, items are identified with Category Stock Numbers (CSNs) entered into the VA’s ISMS.
  • Classification — Performs classification of supplies and equipment used in hospital settings by Special Item Number (SIN) and Federal Supply Class (FSC).
  • Administrative — Supports internal operations by performing analyses, research, electronic system support, business process reviews, and other administrative responsibilities for the NAC’s Office of the Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary and the facility.
