The Secret Service installed and maintained the taping system,
numbered the tapes 1 through 950, and filed them according to their taping location.
The Nixon Staff archivists maintain the original filing system put in place by the Secret Service.
The tapes were numbered according to where they were recorded. As a result, there are seven different series for the White House Tapes,
one for each taping location.
The seven different series for the White House Tapes are the:
