The project identified the availability of technological approaches to improving comfort and safety belt use by commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers in view of a number of real-world considerations. Driver reactions to the various options were explored, and the project also reviewed current CMV crash statistics (FARS and LTCCS) relevant to safety belts.
