Summary

2 February 1901 - Constituted in the Regular Army as Band, 15th Cavalry

12 February 1901 - Organized at the Presidio of San Francisco, California

3 June 1916 - Reorganized, redesignated as Band Section, Headquarters Troop, 15th Cavalry

1921- Reorganized as Band Section, Service Troop, 15th Cavalry

18 October 1921 - Inactivated at Fort D. A. Russell, Wyoming

31 July 1927 - Separated from the Service Troop and redesignated as Band, 15th Cavalry

22 March 1942 - Activated at Fort Riley, Kansas

2 June 1944 - Reorganized and redesignated as the 62nd Army Ground Forces Band

15 May 1947 - Redesignated as the 62nd Army Band

1973 - Assumed assignment as the Army Air Defense Artillery Center Band

The band served in the Philippine Insurrection and World War I, but not in any named campaigns.
